“A picture is worth a thousand words.”   This is a phrase that had its beginning in America, during the 1920’s, relating to the use of photos in the media.  There are a couple of things I would like to say, regarding this phrase.

First of all, thanks to each of you, who made a family picture for our new Church Directory.  Many of our newer members have been asking about specific people, and now they will be able to identify you by your family photo.  On the other hand, many of our long time members have been trying to identify some newer members, as well.  The album of pictures will be invaluable in both cases, to help us get to know each other better.  I say thanks again, for making that effort to be here.

Secondly, we all know that our lives can be a picture of strong faith and witness to others.  Let you light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 5:17)  Most times, people are exceedingly more aware of your actions, than your words.  They certainly will be inspecting your fruits to determine, if you are real or a phony.  You have an excellent opportunity, each day, to put your faith into action.

What people see in you will be a picture of your relationship with Jesus Christ.  When you are full of joy, people notice.  When you have a positive spirit, in difficult situations, people will be certainly affected.  When you exhibit Christ in your service to others, the world cannot turn a blind eye.

Yes, your life can be a light for Jesus Christ!  That is what He commanded, that is what He expects of you.  Let the world see a picture of Jesus, in you.

Bro. Jerry

BACK-PACK Buddies
The Back-pack Buddy program is an outreach project being organized through our Collinsville schools. A back-pack of nutritional foods is sent home on Fridays for students in need over the weekend. FBC will be contributing supplies to the school once a month to help with this project. This a partial list: fruit cups, pudding cups, individual juices, small cans of ravioli, spaghetti Os, soups, meats, crackers, little Debbie snacks, fruit snacks. For a complete list, check your Sunday school classes or pick up one in the office. If you have any questions please contact Marilyn Head.

Children’s church is for our 4 to 7 years old children. Children need to sit with their parent/parents. The children will be dismissed when the choir is dismissed. There will be attendants at the back to take the children to the classroom. You may pick up your children following the service, in the 1st & 2nd grade Sunday school classroom. Please direct your questions to our children’s church coordinator – Janelle Hodgkinson

Senior Adult News

The Branson trip is almost here, just a couple reminders. Please bring your luggage to the church between 3-4 p.m. on Monday, May 6th, so we can tag and load it on the bus in preparation for an early departure (6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7th) for Branson. Please remember this is only a three night, four day trip so please pack accordingly.

NO senior Game Day in May. A number of our participants are going to be just returning from Branson in May (will likely need a break (me). Be thinking of what would be a good meal plan for June and see if we can get a houseful.

 Special Thank you………

To all my friends and family, Thanks for helping make my 105th birthday one of the best. They get bigger and better each year. I appreciate all of you. Thanks again and may God bless each and every one of you.

In Christian Love, Evorie Graham

I truly appreciate all the prayers that FBC says for me! I believe prayer and faith has helped me through my journey. The prayers received from everyone has been very heartwarming. I am happy to say, I am cancer free and have finished radiation treatment. For now I will be on maintenance meds and continue to have yearly scans. I am getting stronger every day and life is getting back to normal. This was not a journey I expected to be on; but I am embracing it. I know that I have God on my side and He will take care of me.

Thank you all! Lisa McAden

God Chasers & Team Kids would like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s summer camp fundraiser great! With the help of those who participated, donated and worked; 27 children were helped with camp expenses! The Lord blessed the hard work of everyone involved and just over $2600 was raised. Thank you all so very much!

I’d like to thank all who contributed to the Easter musical this year! Thanks to the choir for working hard to learn music, put in extra time, and sing the Easter story. Thanks to the instrumentalists for also putting in extra time to make everything come together so well. Thanks to those who shared the stories of people who encountered Jesus, bringing those encounters to life. Special thanks go to the media team for making everything look and sound amazing! A lot of work goes into making events like these happen, but we do it all for the glory of God! Thanks again for giving your time and talents to the Lord!  Ron
