A happy Christian family was driving down the road during a trip, when they decided to pass the time singing. One of the songs they loved to sing was, You Can’t Be A Beacon If Your Light Don’t Shine. Now you can understand that one of the smaller children didn’t quite get the words right. Dad began to listen more closely, when he heard, “You can’t be a Deacon if your light don’t shine.” She had the words to the chorus wrong, but she was sure right about Deacons. Their lives should be a shining beacon, to point others to Christ.

I am very excited to know that we have selected four men, to serve alongside our current Deacons, while we go forward, as a body of believers. These men are Jerry Armstrong, Justin McDonnell, David Sheppard, and Jason Hodkinson.

On March 3, during the evening service we will conduct an Ordination service for these men, with the exception of Jerry Armstrong, who has already been ordained. This is always a very special time for a church body. I hope you will be praying for these men and you will be present for the Ordination, to stand behind and encourage these men of God, who will be serving the church. I can assure you, that they covet your prayers.

BACK-PACK Buddies
The Back-pack Buddy program is an outreach project being organized through our Collinsville schools. A back-pack of nutritional foods is sent home on Fridays for students in need over the weekend. FBC will be contributing supplies to the school once a month to help with this project. This a partial list: fruit cups, pudding cups, individual juices, small cans of ravioli, spaghetti Os, soups, meats, crackers, little Debbie snacks, fruit snacks. For a complete list, check your Sunday school classes or pick up one in the office. If you have any questions please contact Marilyn Head.

Children’s church is for our 4 to 7 years old children. Children need to sit with their parent/parents. The children will be dismissed when the choir is dismissed. There will be attendants at the back to take the children to the classroom. You may pick up your children following the service, in the 1st & 2nd grade Sunday school classroom. Please direct your questions to our children’s church coordinator – Janelle Hodgkinson

 Special Thank you………

Special Thanks:

Dear Church Family,

Sidney is doing a great work in the Philippians. She is working with the children- which was her hearts’ desire, and doing a women’s’ bible study. We would like to say that we are grateful and thankful for all who donated and made this possible for her. We are very blessed as a family to have such a wonderful church family. Please continue praying for her. Once again, thank you all for being here for her.

Love, Charles & Debbie Roberts & family
