I was reading about a man who was living for a while in Japan. He grew to love the country and its people, and found that they were very generous in their giving. On one occasion, some of his new found friends gave him a gift basket, which included a package of green tea leaves, and a package of mineral bath cocktail. He had grown to appreciate the taste of green teas and the luxury of the mineral bath.

He arrived home, late one evening after a particularly difficult day, looking forward to a nice bath and a healthy cup of green tea. He turned on the hot water for the bath and poured in the package he had laying by the tub; then went into the kitchen to make the tea. His nose alerted him, that something was not quite right. Sure enough, he was about to drink a mineral bath cocktail. Then, as he returned to the bath, he realized that he had just brewed himself fifty-five gallons of green tea.

Lesson learned: the contents of the package truly make the difference. That is true of spiritual packages as well. We are prone to judge by the outward appearance of things, rather than what is on the inside. We ought to look at the heart of a person, not just what they say, or what they do in public. God himself told Israel that he wanted their heart, not some outward display or ritual.

In Christianity, we can be assured, it is what is on the inside of the package that counts!

 Special Thank you………

Dear Church Family,
We want to thank all of you for the calls, texts, cards, food, and especially your support and prayers.
We are so blessed to be a part of a wonderful church that not only believes in prayer, but are the hands and feet of Jesus. I will be having my last chemo infusion next week; followed by 6 weeks of radiation. God has been so faithful to walk with us during this difficult time. God is so good and so are His people at First Baptist Collinsville.
Please continue to pray for us.
We love you all,
Gene and Lana

We truly appreciate the recommendation you all gave us as we transition into the next season the Lord has for us. As we are preparing to begin seminary at Southeastern in Wake Forest, NC, please know we continue to ask His richest blessings upon the FBC family!

Grateful,Jordan, Ember & Eden Johnson (Phil. 4:8)

We would like to send a special thank you to all the hostess who threw us a baby shower for our sweet Tinley. Also, a special thank you to everyone who came and brought gifts for us. We are truly blessed with an amazing church family and couldn’t be more excited to raise Tinley in such a great place with amazing role models to help teach and guide her in her Christian walk.
Phillip and Sydney McDaniel
To our church family,
Words cannot express our appreciation for all the prayers, cards, calls, food and love that we have received in the last few weeks. The shoulder surgery was successful and now comes the healing.
Thank you so much.
Sincerely, Keith and Cathy Meyer
